FrogTape

An important painting tool is FrogTape. It is actually in just about every pro painter’s supplies and is treated with PaintBlock technology for stunning results. FrogTape is intended to be used together with latex paint formulas. PaintBlock generates a micro-barrier around the edges of the tape which forms a chemical reaction with the water in the latex paint. This stops the paint from bleeding to produce a clean finish.

What is PaintBlock Technology?

This is called a cross-linked, SAP, or sodium-based Superabsorbent Polymer. Compared to its own mass, this special polymer can absorb and hold huge amounts of liquid. Various industries depend on these items including feminine hygiene products, paper towels and diaper items.



Why Does FrogTape Come In A Plastic Container?

Since masking tape is a crucial tool, it will endure longer if kept clean and free of moisture. The canister packaging inhibits the FrogTape from being damaged while keeping debris and dirt aside. The empty canisters are excellent to recycle or use in your shop for nails, screws, mounting bolts, nuts, etc.

What is the FrogTape Delicate Surface timeline for leaving on my walls and trim?

FrogTape Delicate Surface Painter’s Tape will remove without depositing a residue from freshly painted surfaces (a minimum of 24 hours), wallpaper and faux paint finish for approximately two months or sixty days in advance of painting. To prevent the possibility of ripping fresh paint, we recommend removing the masking tape right after your painting is done.

When FrogTape Multi-Surface is left on a surface in the direct sunshine, how long before it needs to be removed?

This unique FrogTape can handle seven days of UV resistance. Typically, masking tape is rapidly removed once the painting is complete to deliver crisp results.



How long can FrogTape Multi-Surface stay on my trim or walls?

Most areas enable FrogTape Multi-Surface painter’s tape to savor easy removal for seven days in direct sunshine or twenty-one days ahead of painting. It is recommended that masking tape is peeled off right after your painting is completed to lessen the risk of accidentally tearing fresh paint.

How long can FrogTape be left on before I need to take it off of the surface?

Taking the painter’s tape off while the paint is wet just after painting is recommended for best results. Occasionally, the paint has dried witout a doubt and you will observe it pulling up with the tape. You might notice cracking paint down the line while you try to remove it. Use a razor blade to score along the tape’s edge before removing. Breaking the seal between the tape along with the paint provides quicker removal and a cleaner line.



Why won’t my FrogTape stick to the walls?

If your walls have been freshly painted and your tape isn’t sticking, this may mean the paint hasn’t fully cured. If the surface was improperly prepared, another reason it can lift off the wall is if it had been stretched as you applied it. Preparing the area carefully is essential to making sure it is exempt from dust. Use a wall primer as your first step to make sure paint will bond properly and all blemishes are looked after.
